LOGISTICS

For its customers (French and foreign), the TFN Group has put in place a 6000-m² logistics warehouse, managing components, finished products and packaging :

Storage of around 6,000 pallets with a picking area

Relabelling of all pallets or containers, all in tight flow, managed by FIFO and anytime traceability.

The flow represents:

  • At least the equivalent of 40 articulated lorries per day + sea containers • Loading/unloading outside hauliers
  • Loading/unloading hauliers from our Group in the form of shuttles between the warehouse and our customers’ factories, all managed by access point authentication with optical reader or on other ICT systems.
Currently, we are further developing the Suppliers’ Intermediate Warehousing system.

Adjacent to these logistics facilities is a special washing centre for cleaning: plastic inter-layer sheets, boxes and pallets.

RESELECTING GLASS OR QUALITY SORTING

The action of reselecting glass consists in detecting faults in the structure of glass articles (bottles, jars, flasks, etc.) and sorting them so that only compliant articles are kept.

Faults can come from the raw material, like a ceramic particle in with the fusing silica or a fault during manufacture: a fault in the mould or machines handling the still hot articles. These faults can be detrimental to the customer. Glass receptacles can be subject to high pressure during filling. If the glass is weakened, the bottle can shatter and cause a break in production.

There may also be a risk to the end consumer if the edges of the receptacle are chipped or if there is a foreign body inside the jar.

We can reselect (sort) glass:
  • by automated picking removing articles that come from a clearly identified mould
  • by visual inspection visual and manual inspection of each article by trained operators
  • by mounting photoelectric cells on automated machines to detect faults in the glass by reflection
We can adapt to other types of sorting, like geometric faults (height of jar under which filling is impossible)

We also provide traceability of incoming and outgoing products.

At the end of processing, articles are repackaged and sent either to the manufacturer or directly to the end customer.
